A Walk in the Park - Daily Photo 31/365

Today I was able to just walk around the part - it's more like a track around a pond but you get the idea - capture a lot of images.  Some of them today are wildlife (that's a shocker for me), one is architectural, and the rest are my standard close-up shots.

The bokeh on this one amazes me - even the color!

Wanting Spring - Daily Photo 30/365

Our weather has not been boring.  Wednesday the schools were closed because of 2"-5" of snow but yesterday and today felt like spring, bathed in sunshine.  Temperatures yesterday were in the low 60's and today in the high 60's.  Days like yesterday and today make those snow days a lot easier to accept.

Since the weather was so beautiful today I got out and captured a lot of the greens and browns commonly seen in the springtime.

Textured B&W - Daily Photo 29/365

The decision to make this image black & white wasn't easy because the tones of the color version were soft and warm.  But I'm pleased with the black & white version because it brings out the textural details.

Winter Color - Daily Photo 28/365

Looking for today's photo took me to my back yard.  Amazing what I can find so close to home.

The holly berries are such a vivid red nestled in the green leaves.

More berries but I can't identify the bush.  Actually, I prefer the rich color of these berries over the vivid red of the holly berries.

This comes from the same bush as the berries in the picture above but what I'm focusing on in this image is the tiny white growth that reminds of a tree frog's toes.

The ivy peeking through the fence.

More ivy but with a different processing treatment.

A purple whirly thing lying underneath the grill.
Notice how this image became a self-portrait...unintentionally.

Fix-it Friday #84

It's hard to believe it's already Friday and time for another Fix-it Friday photo.  This week's image is by Keli Hoskins - her sweet baby, wonderful autumn colors and great bokeh.

This is the original image from Keli.

Quick Change - Daily Photo 27/365

Yesterday we woke up to at least 2" of snow and today it's melting away.  As the snow melts it brings out by contrast beautiful things to see.

This is not a growth that I can identify - no shock there - but it looks like a tiny fern sprouting from the limb.

 Notice the tiny buds.

Dressed in White - Daily Photo 26/365

So far this has been a most unusual winter with record amounts of snow.  Fortunately for people like me it doesn't last long.
We got another 2-3" last night so I went out this morning and walked around seeking out today's photo.

Good-byes - Daily Photo 25/365

Why does time fly on swift wings when you're spending time with family or good friends?
Good-byes are so hard.
